CENTER FOR THE INTREPID GLASS AND COPPER FINE ART COMMISSION
My art was contacted by the Center for the Intrepid in San Antonio Texas to create a 6' x 9' glass and copper art piece to honor the wounded soldiers of our country. After first hesitating because of the size, I took the challenge.
Having never created anything to this magnitude, it did not come without its challenges. But I met them head on and completed the piece in four months.
The greatest piece of this challenge was having a field trip to my studio with some of Intrepid's patients. They were so enthusiastic about the piece, 20 pieces of glass were kept out in random locations and that allowed each of them to place the final pieces. They then felt a part of the magnificent honor.
The Intrepid now stands strong in San Antonio, Texas at the Center for the Intrepid at the Brooke Army Medical Center.
